After Party

Bold new writing company Paines Plough used to be a major presence at the Fringe in a very literal sense, with their iconic Roundabout venue setting up in the corner of Summerhall and staging a daylong programme of work that’s included the likes of recent-ish Fringe smash Baby Reindeer. There’s reason to hope it’ll be back next year – this year there’s a giant sauna in its stead – but in the meantime it will debut Morna Young’s new play After Party at the Traverse. Directed by co-artistic director Katie Posner, it follows 80-year-old acting legend Vivienne Blackwood to her country home for a birthday celebration that is not all it seems.
