Time Out says

Located in North Beach on Columbus Street, Cobb’s Comedy Club is quite possibly the most well known spot for stand up comedy in the city. Founded in 1982, Cobb’s was originally a pub in the Marina. The current space, which seats 400 at circular low and high bar tables, is the third home to the club. When big name comedians come through SF, they are most likely to take the stage at Cobb’s; past comics include Louis CK, Dana Carvey, Dave Chappelle and other regulars of the late shows and Comedy Central. Upcoming artists include Michael Yo from Chelsea Lately and Pete Davidson from Saturday Night Live. Cobb’s has a dinner menu and full-service bar with a two drink minimum. Most of the seating is general admission and it’s first come first served. Since it’s a bar, all IDs must be checked before show-goers enter, so there may be a line out front to get in. Public transportation is recommended as there isn’t much parking nearby.

What’s on

D.L. Hughley

D.L. Hughley brings his razor-sharp wit and unfiltered social commentary to San Francisco for a night that promises both laughter and reflection. A veteran of the comedy circuit, Hughley first made his mark as the original host of BET’s ComicView, where his quick-fire observations and fearless humor set a new standard for televised stand-up. Since then, he’s become a familiar face on sitcoms like The Hughleys and late-night talk shows, always blending personal stories with pointed takes on politics and culture. His live shows are known for their energy and unpredictability, with Hughley riffing on everything from current events to the absurdities of everyday life. Audiences can expect a performance that’s as thought-provoking as it is hilarious, delivered by a comedian who’s never been afraid to speak his mind.

Steve-O

Steve-O’s live show lands in San Francisco with the same reckless energy that made Jackass a cultural phenomenon. The comedian and stunt performer brings his signature blend of outrageous storytelling and jaw-dropping video clips, weaving together behind-the-scenes tales from his wildest days with new material that pushes the boundaries of stand-up. The evening unfolds as a chaotic confessional, with Steve-O’s unfiltered honesty and physical comedy keeping the audience on edge. Fans of his YouTube channel will recognize the raw, DIY spirit, but nothing quite prepares you for the immediacy of his stage presence. There’s a sense of unpredictability that lingers throughout, as if anything could happen next. For those curious about the line between comedy and calamity, Steve-O’s Crash & Burn tour offers a front-row seat to the spectacle.
