What’s on

MRKREME: THE FURRYWAYS

Bangkok gets first dibs on MRKREME: THE FURRYWAYS, the latest exhibition from Kooky World, before it heads to Seoul, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Tokyo and Taipei. Inspired by the everyday rhythm of the New York subway, the show turns its venue into a playful station where oversized installations, light, sound and hands-on artworks encourage visitors to take part rather than simply look on. Familiar furry characters including Mushkin, Rosado, Corkin, Gally and Odeys appear along the route, while photo corners, family activities and a shop packed with exclusive plushies and collectibles round off the visit.   July 4-19. Free entry. Siam Paragon. 10.30am-9pm

Neon Dreams and Paper Saints

Bright colours, familiar faces and a healthy dose of imagination fill Neon Dreams, Paper Saints, a group exhibition bringing together nine contemporary artists including Jirapat Tatsanasomboon, Bobby Leash, BYME and YISLOW. Painting, sculpture and mixed-media works draw on pop culture, personal memories and invented folklore, each artist taking a different approach to storytelling. Expect playful imagery, carefully arranged symbols and plenty of visual details that reward a second look. Seen together, the collection offers a lively snapshot of how contemporary artists continue to reshape pop art in distinctly personal ways. July 4-24. Free entry. ART JEWEL Gallery. 10am-10pm

Burrow into Bangkok’s most huggable underground at The Furryways

Created with BEM and supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, The Furryways turns Park Paragon into a make-believe subway station filled with oversized sculptures, tactile installations and plenty of chances to touch, hug and interact. Familiar characters including Mushkin, Rosado, Corkin, Gally and Odey pop up around platforms and train-inspired spaces, making this less a walk-through show than a soft, strange little world to linger in. Bangkok is the first stop before the exhibition travels to other cities across Asia. July 4-19. Free entry. Park Paragon, Siam Paragon. 10.30am-9pm
